PrincetonInstruments.jpgThe Quad-RO: 4320, a 4-megapixel fiber optically coupled CCD camera, has been released by Princeton Instruments. The device has applications in x-ray microtomography and phase contrast imaging, and in crystallography and medical imaging. It offers readout of 0.72 fps and sensitivity of >70% quantum efficiency at 560 nm, with a front-illuminated 2084 × 2084-format sensor with 24-μm pixels and a 50 × 50-mm image area. The camera has a compact single-head design, an IEEE-1394a interface, three independent software-selectable gains and dual speed, and it can be programmed to read from four ports or from one port.
