Three models of high-repetition-rate lasers that operate at 527 nm for particle image velocimetry applications are available from Photonics Industries International Inc. The DM10-527 and DM30-527 diode-pumped lasers offer 5 and 10 mJ per pulse, respectively, and the GM30E-527 lamp-pumped laser provides 10 mJ per pulse. The repetition rate is from single shot to 10 kHz. Dual pulse separation can be varied from 1 to 500 µs, and the pulse energy can be controlled through proprietary technology. The company says the lower diode pump power requirement enables better pulse-to-pulse stability and reliability.
