Oven Industries Inc. now offers model 5R6-900, a laboratory temperature controller with ramp/soak capabilities. The benchtop device is suitable for science laboratories, polymerase chain reaction research and business applications.
Plugged into the wall, the self-contained instrument has its own internal power supply. The solid-state MOSFET bidirectional compact unit can load currents up to 10 A.
The PC-programmable electronic controller connects to a computer through the electrically isolated RS-232 communications port. Once the desired parameter settings are in place in the nonvolatile memory, the unit can stand alone.
Functions including output voltage and temperature are controlled from a digital display. If the sensor is opened or shorted, the controller goes into auto output shutdown mode. It has high-, low- and no-alarm settings.
