EPIX.jpgEpix Inc. has released Pixci E4, a frame grabber for use with four-lane PCI Express buses. Featuring an advanced chip that has high-speed serial transceivers, made by Altera Corp., the card can interface with one base-, medium- or full-configuration Camera Link-based camera, capturing images at sustained rates up to 700 MB/s. The frame grabber can support several high-speed cameras simultaneously and works under line- or area-scan modes. It supports any compatible camera’s maximum frame rate, bit depth, and horizontal and vertical resolution. The RoHS-compliant device features 64-bit memory addressing and is shipped with Xcap-Lite image-capture software; Xcap-Ltd and Xcap-Std, which provide advanced capabilities, are available optionally.
