PI.jpgBased on proprietary ceramic encapsulated Picma multilayer technology, the P-871 closed-loop piezo bender actuators and E-614 OEM controllers from PI (Physik Instrumente) L.P. have an integrated high-resolution position feedback sensor that enables better linearity, accuracy and repeatability than open-loop piezo benders provide. The piezo transducer systems are suitable for photonics alignment, beam deflection and stabilization, nanopositioning and fast switching, and for scanning optical components. Travel range is up to 1600 μm, operating voltage is ±30 V, and operating temperature is up to 150 °C. Co-fired outer ceramic insulation lessens diffusion of water molecules into the insulation layer, reducing the risk of dielectric breakdown.
