PITTSBURGH, Aug. 4, 2010 — Aerotech Inc.’s ANT130-5-V mechanical bearing linear-motor-driven wedge-style vertical lift stages provide the high resolution, accuracy and in-position stability required in nanopositioning applications, while offering travel up to 5 mm.
They are precision stages suitable for use in industrial applications. Designed for stand-alone use, they also can be seamlessly integrated with other stages in the company’s ANT stage family to yield a multiaxis nanopositioning system.
The stages use proprietary direct-drive technology and anti-creep crossed-roller bearings to achieve a high level of positioning performance. The direct-drive technology is non-cogging, noncontact, high-speed, high-resolution and high-accuracy. The lack of hysteresis or backlash enables accurate and repeatable nanometer motion.
The drive and bearing combination, packaged in a compact profile and footprint, offers advantages in high-precision positioning applications such as disk-drive fabrication, fiber alignment, optical delay element actuation, sensor testing, and scanning processes that demand smooth, precise, stable and repeatable motion.
Resolution is 2 nm, repeatability is 100 nm, accuracy is 200 nm, and in-position stability is 1 nm.
The ANT130-5-V family has universal mounting and tabletop patterns that allow for easy system integration. Two, three or more axes can be combined for flexible system designs and multiaxis configurations.
The 2-nm minimum incremental step size provides a high level of performance.
