Phlux Technology APD IR SensorThe Aura family from Phlux Technology are avalanche photodiode (APD) infrared sensors based on Phlux’s noiseless InGaAs APD technology. The sensors can be operated with APD gains up to 120, enabling signals above the noise floor of a connected transimpedance amplifier to be amplified. The Aura family comes in optical apertures of 200 µm and 80 µm and are available as bare die or in SMD, chip on submount, and TO-46 packages designed to meet MIL-STD 883. The sensors also feature responsivity of 0.98 A/W at 1550 nm, a spectral range of 950 to 1700 nm, and an excess noise factor of 1.86 at an avalanche gain of 40, or 1.08 at an avalanche gain of 10.
