Suitable for high-fidelity applications such as automated x-ray inspection, medical imaging, vascular and minimally invasive surgery, and nondestructive testing, Dalsa Corp.'s Pantera TF 1M60 is a 12-bit, 1024 × 1024-pixel area-scan camera that operates at up to 60 fps with >66-dB dynamic range, without the need for cooling. The camera is based on the company's TrueFrame CCD image sensor technology. With 12-µm square pixels, 180k-electron full well and a 100% fill factor, it provides high-quality images at low light levels. When used with microfocus x-ray equipment, the camera can scan in real time the internal structures of flip chips, printed circuit boards, steel, aluminum and ceramic tiles to reveal porosity, cracks and contamination.
