Janos Technology Inc. a manufacturer of infrared (IR) optics and optical assemblies, has released the ASIO microscopic objectives lens. It is one of 11 in the ASIO series of infrared lenses that support imagers with standardized back working distance, stop location and f/# for mid-wave infrared (MWIR) systems. The advanced ASIO microscopic objectives thermal imaging lens maximizes the distance from the lens to the object. The line includes magnifications of 1X, 2.5X and 4X to permit close inspection of small components using infrared imagery. The front objective section is interchangeable with the same eyepiece that mounts to the camera.
Janos Technology's ASIO series also includes the dual field of view (DFOV) lens featuring a motorized control for both switching fields and adjusting focus. All DFOV electronics are housed within the optical assembly, with an included base plate accessory available as a common mount between the lens and the camera. The compact one-degree FOV Lens, with a manual focus, is a lens for IR imaging of objects at extreme distances. All ASIO lenses image in the mid-wave IR range of 3 to 5 µm, feature an f/2.3, stop size of 11 mm and stop position at 25.4 mm with an image diagonal measurement of 21 mm. The ASIO thermal imaging lenses have bayonet-type mounts for use with standardized MWIR systems.
For standard night vision optics and IR imagers, Janos also offers a line of COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) lenses for cameras that image in the near-infrared (1.5 to 3.0 µm) and the long-wave infrared (roughly 8 to 12-14 µm). The ASIO family of thermal imaging lenses has multispectral applications in the military and defense, industrial, commercial OEM, research and development, aerospace and astronomy markets.
