IRVINE, Calif., July 19, 2013 — Newport Corp. has extended its portfolio of achromatic zero-order quartz-MgF2 wave plates, providing a higher degree of retardation accuracy for ultrafast laser applications.

The 10RP52-4 and 10RP54-4 are designed for wavelengths ranging from 650 to 1350 nm with either λ/2 or λ/4 retardations. Enclosed in a 1-in.-diameter black anodized aluminum housing, the zero-order wave plates provide a clear aperture of 12 mm.

The two birefringent crystals feature a broadband antireflection coating in an air-space design, enabling good transmitted wavefront quality, and minimizing beam deviation and surface reflection losses.

Wave plates with 1.5-in.-diameter housings, 30-mm clear aperture and a 700- to 1000-nm wavelength range are also available.
