Achromats and Doublets
Bern Optics Inc.Request Info
Bern Optics Inc. has announced submillimeter achromatic lenses with 0.20-mm diameters for use in precision medical and analytical devices. The most common type of achromat, the doublet, is a compound lens consisting of two elements cemented together. These precision microminiature optical components can be custom-engineered, ground and polished to micron tolerances. They are suitable for use in applications including endoscopes and other medical devices. Besides careful grinding and polishing of the complex lenses, the company’s quality control regimen verifies the centration of each element before and after cementing. The lenses can be produced with or without specialized coatings to meet the specific application requirements.
