Adaptive Optics KitEdmund Optics has announced the Iris AO (Adaptive Optics) Kit, an image-based AO kit that includes a MEMS-based deformable mirror, optics, optomechanics, camera and graphical user interface software.

The deformable mirror features 37 hexagonal piston-tip-tilt (PTT) segments controlled by 111 actuators. The Iris AO PTT111 DM controller corrects or introduces aberrations. It can also be used for testing and development of beam splitting, beam shaping, and other complex algorithms on a user-friendly, easy-to-assemble test bed.

Precision linear open-loop PTT positioning enables high-performance AO corrections. Intuitive mirror positioning using PTT values or Zernike coefficients and a USB interface allow precision mirror shapes onto the mirror.
