COPENHAGEN, Denmark, Sept. 29, 2014 — New aerial camera systems from Phase One Industrial are suitable for creating orthophotographs and digital terrain and surface models for mapping.

The new 80-megapixel, 60-megapixel and achromatic iXA-R cameras offer three new dedicated lenses, designed and built by Rodenstock, with focal lengths of 40, 50 and 70 mm. The 50-mm lens is suited for capturing images alongside lidar.

The cameras feature focal plane and central-leaf shutters, optional forward motion compensation, scalability to form multi-camera arrays and integration with popular flight management systems, and global positioning system/inertial measurement unit receivers. Each lens/shutter combination offers low distortion, high modulation transfer function (MTF) and contrast.

The iX Controller (pictured) is a fanless PC that comes with software enabling the control of multiple Phase One aerial cameras.
