Andor CB2 sCMOS series - Oxford InstrumentsThe Andor CB2 Series introduces a new generation of ultra-high performance scientific cameras, integrating advanced Sony global shutter CMOS sensors to deliver exceptional speed, low noise, and excellent thermal management. With spectral sensitivity from 200 to 1000 nm and resolutions ranging from 0.5 MP to 24.5 MP, the Andor CB2 series is engineered for both demanding research and industrial imaging applications.

Available in three versions, High Resolution, High Speed, and UV, Andor CB2 supports a wide range of fields including adaptive optics, wavefront sensing, quantum computing, semiconductor inspection, lithography, developmental biology, ion flux imaging, and light-sheet microscopy.
  • Andor CB2 High Resolution features a 24.5-MP back-illuminated sensor with 2×2 on-chip binning for enhanced speed, and long-exposure performance.
  • Andor CB2 High Speed offers rapid frame rates up to 1594 fps with resolutions from 0.5 to 7.1 MP, ideal for speed-critical experiments.
  • Andor CB2 UV is optimised for ultraviolet imaging (200 - 400 nm), achieving >50% quantum efficiency at 300 nm and frame rates up to 194 fps.
Andor CB2’s advanced internal liquid cooling enables sensor temperatures down to -20 °C, minimizing dark current to 0.00014e-/p/s, and even to -40 °C for extremely long integration times in light-starved conditions. Andor CB2 can operate in extreme temperature environments, from -40 °C to +50 °C. The readout noise is kept to a minimum (down to 1.4 e-). Global shutter ensures distortion-free imaging, especially at high speeds. 2×2 on-chip binning enhances both frame rates and signal to noise ratio. The camera ensures high throughput data transfer even over long distances: GigE for ease of use or CoaXPress for reliability.

The Andor CB2 Series is a versatile solution for professionals seeking sensitivity, speed, and reliability for advanced imaging.
