New atomic emission spectrophotometers from Shimadzu Scientific Instruments enables detailed chemical, environmental, pharmaceutical, food, metal and electronics analysis.

The ICPE-9800 Series Simultaneous ICP uses a 1-in. CCD detector with 1 million pixels.

A vertically oriented plasma torch consumes only about half as much argon gas as standard torches. It minimizes adhesion of samples on the torch walls, reducing carryover and allowing for simultaneous analysis of trace and high-concentration samples.

The system also does not require continuous purges with high-purity argon or nitrogen gas.
