The ACT-25FO autocollimator from PLX Inc. combines the functions of a collimator and telescope to make a high-accuracy measurement instrument capable of resolution down to 0.01 arc-sec.
The device has a motorized focusing knob controlled by a supplied software. The focusing function allows focusing on objects along the optical axis of the autocollimator with line of sight deviations of <2.5 s. When used as an autocollimator, the unit has a 25-min. horizontal measurement range. In alignment telescope mode, the field of view is 50 min., horizontally. Its focusing range is from 17.5 cm to infinity.
The device can be used for machinery alignment, optical testing, and boresighting applications.
