Varioptic, a business unit of Parrot, has expanded its Caspian family of autofocus lens modules with the addition of the M12-316-7.5. With a 7.5-mm focal length, it is suitable for high-speed industrial applications such as machine vision, bar-code reading, biometrics and medical imaging.

Based on an Arctic 316 liquid lens and a Sunex DSL944 fixed-focus lens, it is compatible with M12x0.5 mounts (S-mount), up to 1/2.5-in. sensors and off-the-shelf flexible printed circuit connectors. An optional IR-cut filter is available.
