Wide Angle Autofocus LensCarl Zeiss AG has announced the Batis 2.8/18 wide-angle lens with autofocus for the Sony E-Mount cameras.

The lens features a diagonal angular field of 99° and an innovative OLED display to show focus distance and depth of field. It’s ideal for capturing unique images in landscape, architectural and astro photography, as well as interior shots of small spaces.

The lens has 11 lens elements in 10 groups and draws on the Zeiss Distagon optical design. Four of the lens elements are aspheric on both sides, with seven are made from special types of glass. The floating elements design permits high image performance in the focal plane.
