Autofocusing Stage
Heason Technology Ltd.Request Info
Designed to operate in flight conditions, a single-axis linear autofocusing stage from Nanomotion Ltd. of Yokneam, Israel, is resistant to shock and vibration, extreme temperature variation, and intense orientation changes.
Its direct-drive piezoceramic motor technology has high accuracy and precise movement with high resolution and low settling times, coupled with extensive velocity and force dynamics. A linear encoder is integrated into the stage, with the microscale motor powered and controlled by a XCD2 chip.
The stage drives an optronic device with a mass of 25 to 35 g over 20 mm of travel with accuracy of 2.5 μm, based on an encoder resolution of 0.25 μm. The Edge 4X motor provides 1.3 N of force and a maximum velocity of 200 mm/s. The system provides shock resistance to 40 g and vibration resistance to 12 g.
Applications include nonuniformity correction shutters and variable-aperture devices for aeronautical and military instruments, as well as target acquisition and forward-looking IR spectroscopy equipment.
