SAXONBURG, Pa., Feb. 15, 2023 — Automated Laser Processing SystemThe AP 530 S automated laser system from Coherent is designed for the texturing and marking of implantable medical devices.

The freeform system operates unattended between the loading and unloading of large part batches. The laser-based process is contactless, eliminating any risk of contamination and ensuring the high level of quality and uniformity required for medical devices. It can be configured with a femtosecond laser for texturing, a picosecond laser for permanent black marking, or a nanosecond laser for general marking or engraving.
