OmniVision Technologies Inc. has collaborated with the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) to develop a head-up display (HUD) for next-generation automobiles.

Using OmniVision's OVP7200 single-panel color-field-sequential liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS) display technology, the HUD produces a vertical alignment display.

A proprietary optical module design enables the HUD to produce contrast of more than 10,000 nits at 2-W of LED power.
