SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 3, 2021 — Automotive Integrated CircuitThe OAX8000 artificial intelligence-enabled, automotive application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) from OmniVision Technologies Inc. is optimized for entry-level, standalone driver monitoring systems (DMS).

The OAX8000 uses a stacked-die architecture to provide a DMS processor with on-chip DDR3 SDRAM memory of 1 GB. This processor integrates a neural processing unit and image signal processor, which provides dedicated processing speeds up to 1.1 trillion operations/s for eye gaze and eye tracking algorithms.

Fast processing speeds with 1K MAC of convolutional neural network acceleration and integrated SDRAM enable low power consumption and a reduction of board area for the engine control unit.
