Laser Components' Avalanche PhotodiodesThe SAH series of avalanche photodiodes from Laser Components GmbH are now available in an M1 package.

The small surface-mounted device housing measures 2 × 1.4 mm. Depending on the version, the diameter of the detector area is 230 or 500 µm. The photodiodes feature low noise, a short response time, and operating temperatures between −40 °C and 85 °C.

Optimized for wavelengths of 850 and 905 nm, the components are mainly designed for range-finding applications in which larger detectors cannot be installed because of lack of space, but consumer products are another application.
