silicon avalanche photodiode that offers a large 10 x 10-mm active area, making it suitable for low-light-level measurement in analytical
instruments. The company says that the instrument provides high sensitivity in the
visible spectrum, high gain, low noise and low capacitance. The detector’s
spectral response range is from 320 to 1000 nm, with peak sensitivity at 600 nm.
At this wavelength, quantum efficiency is about 85% and gain is 50.
