Terahertz Photonics has introduced Truemode Backplane, an optical polymer for the backplane market. The material allows high-speed optical interconnections within computer and switch systems. It offers photosensitivity, loss of 0.035 dB/cm and a degradation temperature of >400 °C. The company says that the polymer shows good adhesion with substrates used for printed circuit boards, and that it is compatible with the chemicals used in the industry.
