The LS line of laser beam shutters for safety and beam control applications has been released by Lasermet Ltd. The shutters operate with the ICS-1 laser interlock control system and can be used with an existing DC power supply. The devices serve as a combined shutter and beam dump and do not reflect the beam. They require a low current, and their remote switching and bypass facilities enable them to be used inside enclosures, in remote locations and for OEM applications. Function buttons are situated directly on the devices. The LS-10-12 model, the first in the line, is a 12-V DC shutter for up to 10 W of laser power.
