WATERLOO, Ontario, Canada, May 2, 2013 — Teledyne Dalsa has launched the BOA Nexus Smart Bridge, a complementary device that expands sharing and monitoring capabilities for BOA smart cameras.

It provides six Gigabit Ethernet ports for communicating with BOA cameras and the factory enterprise. The network ports can be expanded using external switches to accommodate larger camera installations. Run-time results from each of the cameras can be displayed on a standard monitor using preinstalled client applications or custom-developed programs. Images, results and user activity can be stored on the BOA Nexus solid-state drive for recordkeeping.

Features include a DIN-mountable hardware platform, storage for run-time image log-in, a software emulator for offline solution editing, access for online setup and maintenance, a display interface that eliminates the need for HMIs (human machine interfaces), and the ability to track user access and changes to camera solutions.
