The EBS-4022 from MPB Technologies Inc. is a 22-dBm broadband source that is flattened within 1 dB over its 40-nm-wide C-band spectrum. It is suitable for replacing tightly packed distributed feedback lasers for evaluation of telecommunications links or a tunable laser for wide-dynamic-range DWDM component testing. The device uses amplified spontaneous emission from diode-pumped Er3+ fiber and features <1.0-dB ripple.
