Bandpass, Edge Filters
Research Electro-Optics Inc. (REO)Request Info
REO has launched linearly variable bandpass and edge filters for
applications in spectrometry and temperature sensing. In these variable response
coatings, the center wavelength of operation changes with position in a linear manner
over the surface of the part. In the past, high manufacturing costs for these kinds
of filters have limited their use to a few specialized applications. The company’s
volume-scalable technology enables cost-effective production of linearly variable
filters over a wide range of sizes. Bandpass filters are available for operation
in the visible (380 to 760 nm), the near-infrared (600 to 1100 nm) and the mid-infrared
(1.3 to 2.6 μm) spectral ranges. Nominal bandwidth is 1% full width half maximum
of the center wavelength, with peak transmission of 60% and linearity of ±0.5%.
Short- and long-wave-pass edge filters also are available over the same spectral
ranges and substrate sizes.
