UPLAND, Calif., Oct. 21, 2011 — UVP LLC has announced that the BioSpectrum imaging system is now configured with the new MegaCam 810 scientific-grade CCD camera.
Designed for use in a wide range of proteomics and genomics imaging research, the camera enables enhanced image capture with dynamic 8.1-megapixel resolution and high sensitivity. It captures fluorescence gel images and chemiluminescent Western blots, and its efficient ultracooled technology enables capture of low-light blot emissions.
The BioSpectrum’s VisionWorks LS software allows easy navigation with simple one-touch controls for dynamic capture. The automated configuration allows selection of multiple UV, white and blue light sources as well as control of the motorized platform and selection of emission filters. The emission filters include EtBr, SYBR Green and SYBR Gold as standard, set in a motorized five-position filter tray. Additional filters are available. The system capabilities can be expanded to multiplexing and bioluminescence imaging by adding a BioLite multispectral light source that excites a variety of stains.
The combination of the BioSpectrum 810 imaging system and the MegaCam 810 camera gives researchers an easy-to-use system for quickly acquiring publication-ready images in chemiluminescence and fluorescence detection as well as colorimetric gel and blot documentation.
