The UV-8701E blue light LED curing epoxy from EpoxySet Inc. offers the high strength of epoxies but can be cured with 365 to 405 nm light sources in <10 s with a cure shrinkage of <1%.
The UV-8701E is a thixotropic adhesive with a color change indicator. As applied, it is a clear magenta color and turns translucent when cured. It bonds to plastics such as ABS, ultem, and polycarbonate as well as glass, ceramic, and metals. Once cured, the UV-8701 produces a rugged, semi-rigid plastic with a high glass transition temperature of 138° C.
The epoxy is ideal for temperature cycling from -50 to 180° C with high moisture and chemical resistance. The UV-8701E can be supplied in 3-, 10- and 30-cc syringes, as well as 8-oz jars and liters. A low-viscosity version is also available.
