Tower Optical Corp. has developed diode-pumped solid-state CW Nd:YVO4 lasers for use in biotechnology and microscopy. The OLBDP-901FS emits 10 mW at 473 nm, and the OLBDP-902FS provides 20 mW. The temperature of the laser modules is controlled by an internal thermoelectric cooler. The lasers have a typical beam diameter of <1 mm with a beam divergence of 1 mrad. Baseplate operating temperature is from 15 to ~35 °C.
