The First Single-Frequency 10-W Fiber Laser
BIRKEROD, Denmark, Feb. 16, 2006 -- Fiber laser maker Koheras is
introducing the Boostik HP, what it says is the first truly
single-frequency, mode-hop-free high-power fiber laser offering up to
10 W of output power. The laser is designed with
reduced
susceptibility to acoustic noise and vibrations, with unmatched low
frequency and intensity noise as well as a narrow linewidth less than
100 kHz, according to Koheras. The laser is available ready for
operation as a stand-along unit in a 19-in. rack system, including
state-of-the-art digital control electronics. It is available with a
number of standard wavelengths such as 1064 and 1083 nm (other
wavelength options include 1112, 1118 & 1121 nm and in the 1.5 µm
range). The laser is delivered with a connectorized single-mode fiber
pigtailed output, PM or non-PM, and optionally with free space
collimated output. The laser targets applications such as wind Doppler
LIDAR (light detection and ranging), sensor interrogation, spectroscopy
and atom trapping.
