The Lynx series introduced by Imperx Inc. includes 16 camera models that provide resolution from VGA to 11 megapixels. The image-processing engine is a 1 million gate FPGA with a 32-bit RISC processor. Selecting 8-, 10- or 12-bit output maximizes the dynamic range, and multiple look-up tables can be performed on an image. Inverting either of the taps outputs image data in different formats. Among the programmable functions are vertical and horizontal binning, dynamic function transfer correction, resolution, frame rate, shutter, long integration, strobe output, gain and offset, and field-upgradable software and firmware.
