PhotronInc.jpgDesigned for production line inspection and process control, the Fastcam MC1 camera system from Photron Inc. incorporates a 35 × 35 × 35-mm remote head camera that delivers 2000 fps at full resolution and up to 10,000 fps at reduced resolution. Suitable for installation in difficult-to-reach locations, the head withstands up to 100 g in the automotive crash test environment. It connects to a processor unit via a flexible 7-m cable. Memory options provide for either 2 s (1 GB) or 4 s (2 GB) of record time at 2000-fps resolution and 8 s (1 GB) or 16 s (2 GB) at 500 fps. Four buttons enable a change of camera parameters with only a display monitor connected to the processor’s BNC video-out connector.
