Andor Technology plc has announced that its Clara series now offers sensitivity that is optimal for a high-resolution interline CCD camera. Based on Sony’s 1.3-megapixel ICX285 sensor, it produces typical read noise of 2.4 e− and has a standard dynamic range of >6000:1 at 1 MHz. It operates at a rate of 11.6 fps and offers 1-, 10- and 20-MHz readout speeds. The active area is 1392 x 1040 pixels, the pixel size is 6.45 x 6.45 μm, and the image area is 8.98 x 6.71 mm. It features cooling to –55 °C with an internal fan only, and to -20 °C when the fan is off. It is suitable for high-resolution cell microscopy and OEM applications.
