InPhotonics Inc. has released a compact Raman spectrometer with sampling probe and data acquisition and analysis system. The InPhotote has a standard configuration of 785-nm excitation, and a RamanProbe handheld fiber optic sampling device can measure through glass and plastic containers to identify unknowns. It has a 2300-cm-1 spectral range and a 6-cm-1 spectral resolution that facilitates positive identification of unknown species, especially solid materials and mixtures.
