Texas-Instruments.jpgThe Discovery 4000 Chip Set manufactured by Texas Instruments Inc. and based on proprietary digital light processing technology features a 0.95-in. 1920 × 1080-pixel 2 × LVDS digital micromirror device, an optical semiconductor spatial light modulator that allows developers to manipulate light digitally. Integrated with a light source and optics, the device creates binary light patterns quickly, precisely and efficiently. It offers a 400-MHz interface, a fill factor of >91% and a data rate of 51.2 Gb/s. The micromechanical mirrors are positioned on a 13.68-μm pitch and can be individually deflected at ±12° about a hinged diagonal axis. Positive or negative deflection polarity of the mirrors is controlled by changing the binary state of the underlying CMOS control circuitry and mirror reset signal. The mirrors are driven in 16 separate reset blocks that can be addressed globally or one at a time.
