CMOS Bio-Optical SensorThe ULS24 ultralow-light CMOS bio-optical sensor from Anitoa Systems LLC is a single-chip device capable of 3 × 10−6 lux low-light detection.

The ULS24 achieves a high level of sensitivity through the innovation of a temperature-compensated dark-current management algorithm. It features a very small form factor of <5 × 5 mm packed inside with a highly integrated array of active pixel sensors, an analog-to-digital converter, a digital communication interface, and a signal-processing circuit.

ULS24 addresses the growing need for low-cost, low-power, rapid, and precise screening devices, such as portable point-of-care molecular testing instruments. The optical sensor is ideal for portable high-precision molecular testing in food safety, animal health, environmental monitoring, and more.
