A CMOS USB 2.0 camera series for scientific applications has been launched by Framos Electronic Vertriebs GmbH. The Infinity 1 camera is equipped with a Sony CCD sensor and is suitable for microscopy imaging, documentation and archiving applications. The company says that the Infinity 2 models offer high sensitivity and dynamic range and are suitable for low-light fluorescence applications. They produce 12-bit digital output. The Infinity 3 models offer cooling to 25 °C below ambient and have a Sony sensor with 12-bit digital output. All models feature binning, automatic white balance, full exposure control, programmable gain, subwindowing and region of interest.
