OBERSULM, Germany, July 7, 2010 — IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH has announced high-speed cameras with a 1.3-megapixel global shutter CMOS sensor. The sensor, developed by e2v technologies, operates at up to 60 fps and combines the advantages of CCD technology, such as good light sensitivity and color fidelity, with the functional benefits of a CMOS sensor.
With its pixel size of 5.3 µm and its intelligent design, the 1/1.8-in. sensor is available in monochrome and color. Its global shutter system makes it easy to capture sharp images, even of moving objects.
The USB and GigE cameras from IDS will be available with e2v's new global shutter CMOS sensor from August 2010. The new models come with the extensive uEye software package that supports all uEye cameras from IDS. The software bundle provides 32- and 64-bit drivers for Windows and Linux, an easy-to-use software development kit and many standard interfaces. Third-party drivers for most common image processing software applications also are included.
