Combining low-light capabilities with near-infrared performance, On Semiconductor Inc.'s AR0230AT CMOS image sensor is a 1/2.7-in. optical-format device with a 105-dB dynamic range.
The sensor is able to capture both continuous video and single frames, making it applicable for surveillance, HD video and automotive scene viewing. An extended operating temperature from –40 to 105 °C is featured with iBGA packaging and low thermal resistance.
The capture of full HD, 1080p video data at 30 fps is possible, with 60 fps available for lower-quality surveillance tasks. Integrated high dynamic range support, improved motion compensation, advanced local tone mapping and digital lateral overflow minimizes motion artifacts and enhances color reproduction.
The company's dual-conversion gain 3.0-μm DR-Pix pixel technology is used to enhance low-light performance and broaden the dynamic range. A low conversion gain mode is optimized to offer greater charge handling capacity in bright environments, while a high conversion gain mode delivers increased sensitivity and reduced readout noise in low-light environments.
