Vision Components has introduced the VC Series of industrial smart cameras. These compact machine vision systems offer 8 MB of RAM, 2 MB of Flash EPROM and a powerful digital signal processor. They feature optically isolated industrial I/O, a serial RS-232 interface, CCIR video output and pixel-identical sensor readout. The cameras have CCD sensors with up to 782 3 582 pixels for high resolution and high sensitivity that allow accurate measurements down to 1 µm. More than 100 task-specific software packages are available for use with the cameras. Some models have progressive scanning, color sensor and flicker-free SVGA video output options.
