Named the Golden Dragon, it can be used in reverse lamps for vehicles, in traffic signal lighting and in display backlighting for thin-film transistor and liquid crystal displays. It offers a 1-W point light source and 20-l/mW efficiency, and is manufactured using standard surface-mount technology soldering techniques. The company says the LED satisfies the reliability requirements of the automotive industry. The device is 0.8 to 1.8 mm high and can fit in enclosures measuring 6 x 7 mm.
