A compact and lightweight digital linear gauge sensor that can be installed easily into current production equipment and existing fixtures has been unveiled by Ono Sokki Technology Inc. Using linear glass scale technology, the GS-1630A measures dimensions, thickness, curvature, eccentricity, displacement, height, depth, flatness, variation, runout, roundness, distortion, deflection and position. It produces accurate measurements to 0.00004 in. throughout its 30-mm measuring range. Features include a waterproof seal and a dust bellow. An optional air lifter enables automated measurements. Sensor lifetime is >5 million strokes.
