Gidel.jpgGiDel Ltd. has announced the ProcStarIII family of field-programmable gate array-based compute accelerator systems for machine vision, imaging and embedded computing applications. The systems can be eight-lane PCI Express- or 1-G Ethernet-hosted, or they can function as stand-alone systems. The Altera Stratix III field-programmable gate arrays provide reconfigurable hardware implementation of users’ algorithms to perform application-specific processing acceleration. Features include volatile and nonvolatile design security, up to 16 GB of onboard memory, a flexible clocking system and typical system frequencies of 150 to 350 MHz. With the Proc Developer’s Kit, there is no need to design a custom board, a PCI Express driver or an application driver layer, or to define board constraints, design memory controllers or write host interface code. All are delivered with the product or generated with the developer tools.
