MADRID, Aug. 1, 2012 — New Infrared Technologies complements the Matrix 1024 and the Luxell series with the new CORE-S module for uncooled mid-wavelength infrared imaging and linear arrays for scanning systems, mainly oriented for integration. It incorporates the focal plane array (FPA) in uncooled operation and the analog-to-digital stage, which includes an intelligent dark current subtraction module to eliminate the need for a mechanical chopper.
The system allows a maximum acquisition speed of 100 images per second for the Matrix 1024 focal plane array, and a maximum of 1200 lines per second for the scanning system based on the 64-pixel Luxell FPA (600 lines per second for the 128-pixel FPA and 300 lines per second for the 256-pixel model). The integration time can be set in a range between 2 and 100 μs.
The module is controlled and transmits the 14-bit raw data via a USB interface using the NIT software suite provided.
The new CORE-S modules have applications in the industrial market, including manufacturing process control, quality inspection, and gas and fire detection. They are used also for beam profiling with lasers in the 1- to 5-μm range. A version for spectroscopy measurements between 3 and 4.6 μm also is available.
