CUMBERNAULD, Scotland, May 29, 2017 — CO2 DetectorThe SprintIR6S from Gas Sensing Solutions Ltd. is a CO2 detector that uses LEDs and photodiodes, taking up to 20 readings/s.

The sensor minimizes the sample volume down to 2 ml, which enables fast response rates and opens new application areas that cannot be addressed by slow responding sensors based on traditional IR sources. SmartIR technology detects the presence of CO2 by detecting how much light CO2 molecules absorb as light passes through the sample gases (nondispersive IR absorption).

At 23.8 × 24 mm, the SprintIR6S operates from 3.25 to 5.5 V with a power consumption of 35 mW.
The SprintIR6S is available in measurement ranges from 0 to 100 percent. Applications include health care, diagnostics, fitness testing, breath analysis, capnography, sports science, veterinary medicine, industrial health and safety, food inspection and more.
