STIRLING, N.J., Feb. 13, 2017 — CO2 Laser Splicing and Glass Shaping SystemThe SMARTSPLICER CO2 laser splicing and glass-shaping system from Fiberguide Industries Inc. was developed by Nyfors Teknologi AB based on technology from the Fraunhofer Institute.

The system provides the ability to easily attach large end caps to optical fiber for the production of high-power laser delivery connectors and systems. Fiberguide offers splicing of end caps with end cap-fiber ratios greater than 50:1.

Fiber end caps are useful for many applications, especially those where minimizing power at the air or glass interface is desirable, including high-power fiber lasers.
