The AL1500-W CO2 radio-frequency (RF)-excited laser from Alkras LLC is available in wavelengths of 10.6 and 9.3 µm and delivers wall-plug efficiency of up to 14%. The device weighs <30 kg, measures 90 x 30 x 30 cm and is mechanically and optically stable. It is semi-sealed by standard industrial purity-grade premix gases with a volume helium portion of <30%. Output power range is from 1 to 100%, maximum output power is 1600 W, power stability is ±1%, pulsing frequency range is from 1 to 10,000 Hz, and beam diameter is 14 mm. The laser consumes 12 kW of power, runs on a 230-VAC supply and performs high-speed metal cutting with good edge quality.
